A 12-strong team from Lloyds TSB Commercial Finance, the asset based lending arm of Lloyds TSB that has a major office on Brookhill Way, has swapped a day in the office for a day of gardening at a Banbury charity.
On Friday 4th September, the group visited local charity Katharine House Hospice, which provides specialist palliative care services to terminally ill patients.
Volunteers from Lloyds TSB Commercial Finance’s board and senior team, including managing director Simon Featherstone, cleared pathways, cut back weeds and tidied up the lawn areas.
The group donated their time as part of Lloyds TSB’s ‘Bank an hour’ initiative, which involves staff across the UK donating 50,000 hours of their time this year to charities and voluntary organisations.
Lucinda Lloyd, administration manager at Katharine House Hospice said: “The work by the Lloyds TSB team has really helped support the work already undertaken by our volunteer gardeners who are dedicated to keeping the gardens well maintained for the benefit of our patients, families and visitors all year round.”
Simon Featherstone, managing director for Lloyds TSB Commercial Finance, said: “Volunteering plays an essential role in supporting many charities and at Lloyds TSB we are committed to helping these organisations by donating our time through the ‘Bank an hour’ scheme.
“As one of the biggest employers in the area we felt it was important to give something back to such an inspiring local charity as Katharine House Hospice and were keen to improve the facilities for the patients to ensure they can fully enjoy the hospice’s picturesque gardens.”
